"After a While"

(Comes the Dawn")

"After a while you learn the subtle difference

between holding a hand and chaining a soul.

And you learn that love doesn't mean leaning

and company isn't security.

(Kisses aren't contracts and presents aren't promises.)

After awhile you begin to accept your defeats

with your head up and your eyes open,

with the grace of a woman, not the grief of a child.

And you learn to build your roads on today

because tomorrow's ground is too uncertain 

and the inevitable has a way of crumbling in mid-flight.

After a while you learn that even sunshine burns

if you stand too long in one place.

So, you plant your own garden and decorate your own soul

instead of waiting for someone else to bring you flowers.

And you learn you really can endure,

that you really do have worth.

You learn that with every good-bye comes the dawn."

Welcome to my first blog.I started with this poem as it is a part of my spiritual awakening and journey to self!

There have been many spiritual whacks along the way...this however had to be the words that opened my eyes to another more joyful and profound way of loving life and myself in it!! 

Today I worship silence, that is when I can hear the music the loudest! 

The breezes beautiful aromas of the seasons blowing around me today are something of a wonder! 

I am in awe of beauty, as it is so very captivating!! 

It has been a long walk over rocky pebbles, barefoot to feel the greenlands below me, 

I am making it in spite of myself. 

The only journey to self is 1 not tread alone! 

With it I take knowledge, compassion, the love of my creator and mostly a desire to see clearly and absorb all that was meant for me!!!

With this I shall meditate on where to begin in here...the trick is to acknowledge the past and not dwell on it...remembering that I am moving forward and cannot undo the past...
